Officials of Narcotics Control Department detained two smugglers along with 2 lakh Indian Rupees from a bus at Ekdala on Natore-Rajshahi highway in Sadar upazila on Saturday afternoon.
The arrestees were identified as Sirajul Islam, son of Kalumuddin, of Chandpur village in Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj and Mamun, son of Nazrul Islam of the same area.
Nazimuddin, inspector of the Department of Narcotics Control said being tipped-off, they halted a Dhaka-bound bus of Hanif Enterprise from Chapainawabganj and recovered the foreign currencies searing two passengers of the bus at 2pm. Later, they detained the two passengers.
