Two men were killed in an attack over land dispute in Sathiya upazila of Pabna Saturday morning.
The incident took place around 11am at a construction site on the disputed land in Nariagoda village.
The deceased were identified as Md Nasir, 30, son of Shamsu Hossain of Boro Paiksha, and Munnaf Hossain, 35, son of Shakawat Hossain of Nariagoda. The two were cousins, confirmed Md Asaduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Sathiya police station.
According to local sources, Munnaf’s rivals attacked him and construction workers, killing Nasir on the spot. Later, Munnaf succumbed on his way to a hospital. Construction workers Rawshan and Harun are currently undergoing treatment at the Pabna General Hospital.
Sathiya police OC Asaduzzaman said additional police personnel were deployed to control the situation. Police are investigating the matter.
