UNB, Pirojpur :
A court here on Monday sentenced two people to life term imprisonment for violating a girl in 2010.
The lifers- Jewel Shikder, 34, and Haider Ali Sheikh, 38- both residents of Lahuri village in Indurkandi upazila of the district, were also fined Tk 20,000 each, in default, to suffer three years more RI.
According to the prosecution, the convicts violated the girl, a resident of the same village, and also videoed the deplorable act with their mobile phone on July 8, 2010.
Victim’s father filed a case with Indurkandi police station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act on August 1, 2010. After examining the records and witnesses Pirojpur Additional District and Session’s Judge SM Zillur Rahman handed down the verdict.
