Another batch of 1287 Rohingyas reached Bhasan Char from Cox’s Bazar on Monday (Jan 31) in the tenth phase of relocation under the supervision of the Bangladesh Navy.
They were brought to Bhasan Char by two naval ships this afternoon.Moazzem Hossain, Additional Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (Deputy Secretary), who is in charge of the Bhasan Char Rohingya camp, confirmed the matter.
From ships, 1287 Rohingyas were taken to the helipad adjacent to the naval pontoon, he said, adding from there they were taken to the certain cluster.On January 5, a total of 705 Rohingyas were relocated to Bhashan Char in the ninth phase.A total of 20,949 Rohingyas have been relocated to the island from the refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar.so far, a NGO sources said.
