Coast guard forces detained 12 fishermen from Sandwip channel on Sunday night while indiscriminate fishing of Hilsa fish defying the govt prohibition of hilsa fishing.
Forces also recovered 5 maunds of Hilsa from them and detained 5 fishing boats. Coast guard forces conducted raid in Urkhirchar area of Sandwip channel.night, sources said. Mentionable that govt has prohibited catching of hilsa fish this period due to breeding time. Earlier on Wednesday coast guard forces detained 220 fishermen from the bay along with huge mother hilsa fish and detained 12 fishing boat in last week.
