Immunization of HSC candidates started in Chittagong on November 16. Subsequently, corona vaccination for 12-16 year old students started from 9th December. At first, only metropolitan students were vaccinated. Later, the corona vaccination of students started at the upazila level on January 8. According to the District Education Office and the Civil Surgeon’s Office, 100% of the 12-16 year old students in Chittagong have been vaccinated with a single dose.
According to the concerned, the first dose of vaccination of the students at the upazila level of the district has been completed on January 24. Earlier (January 22), the first dose was administered to metropolitan students.
According to the Chittagong District Education Officer’s Office, the number of students aged 12-18 in Chittagong district including the metropolis is 8 lakh 72 thousand 256 people. One hundred percent of students at this age have already received the first dose of the vaccine. Besides, among the first dose recipients, 32,084 students took the second dose.
Chittagong Civil Surgeon Mohammad Ilias Chowdhury confirmed that emphasis has been laid on immunization of students. Meanwhile, 100 percent students of the district including Mahanagar have received the first dose of vaccine.
