10 coronavirus hotspots in Dhaka

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has identified 10 areas in the capital that house the highest number of patients.
Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of DGHS, has disclosed the names of the areas in its daily online health bulletin on Friday afternoon.
The areas are Rajarbag, Kakrail, Jatrabari, Mugda, Mohakhali, Mohammadpur, Lalbagh, Tejgaon, Malibagh and Babubajar.
Nasima said the number of patients in these areas range from 73 to 200.
The tally of coronavirus cases crossed the 13,000-mark in Bangladesh on Thursday with a spike in fresh cases in the last 24 hours.
Prof Nasima said 709 more people tested positive for coronavirus, taking the number of such cases in the country to 13,134.
Besides, the death toll from coronavirus in the country has risen to 206 with seven more deaths in the last 24 hours till Friday.
Of the seven deceased, five are male and two are female.
Bangladesh reported the first coronavirus case on March 8 while the first death on march 18.
The number of people making recovery has passed 2,000 to 2,101 as 191 more patients conquered Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, Prof Nasima said.
She said 5,941 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 111,454 samples have so far been tested in the country. On Thursday, Bangladesh reported 13 more deaths from coronavirus and 706 new cases.
