Staff Reporter :Police rescued 10 children aged between 10 and 13 from a house in the city’s Banashree area on Saturday afternoon. The identities of the kids could not be known immediately.The law enforcers arrested also four persons, including a woman, in this connection. They have been identified as Arifur Rahman, Hasibul Islam Sabuj, Firoj Alam alias Shuvo and Zakia Sultanta, said Mahbubur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rampura Police Station. The OC said, “Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided house No. 10, Block C, Banashree in the afternoon, rescued the children and picked up four persons.”The arrested men claimed themselves as the NGO workers, dealing with the missing children.They had further claimed that the children had not been confined for realizing ransom from their guardians,” said the police official. The arrested men are being interrogated, the OC said.
